Description
This mosaic depicts two women consulting a sorceress. All three figures wear theatre masks as they sit around the table. Vases are placed on the table suggesting that the sorceress may be conjuring potions with the help of her young assistant on the viewer's right. The artist included small details and flourishes that decorate the scene. Like other mosaics from the Villa of Cicero, it dates to the 1st century BCE and is signed by Dioskourides of Samos.
